It was only a few years ago, but it seems like the trend isn’t going anywhere just yet. Sick of makeup shammers labelling makeup lovers as shallow and self-centered, YouTube beauty guru NikkieTutorials decided to show the world the power of makeup by applying cosmetics to only one side of her face. Following her video that went viral, some of the most famous faces in the social media beauty world recreated their own interpretation of “The Power of Makeup”. I’ve listed my favourite top 10 below.

In her video NikkiTutorials wrote; “I feel like lately makeup shaming has become a thing. It’s as if putting makeup on to have fun is a shame. Therefore, I thought it would be cool to show you the power of makeup. A transformation. Because makeup… is FUN!”

NikkieTutorials I couldn’t agree more and I am so happy that this video inspired so many others to spread the word. Makeup is fun, creative and empowering. I have always said, true beauty and confidence firstly comes from within, makeup is just a fun accessory.
